The Begining – El Principio

I grew up in a house with some interesting paintings. Well, some reproductions of works of art. My favorite was Francisco Goya’s The Naked Maja. And I thought for a while it was my mami.
We also had a reproduction of The Duchess of Alba (by Goya too) and my grandma “emita” told me that the two of them had been very good friends ! Took me a while to realize the time gap. She was always making up different stories.
When I was a teen, I started writing and inventing my own stories when I didn’t like the real ones or when I didn’t know them.
So, one day I write something for my grandmother’s friend…

Crecí en una casa con unos cuadros muy interesantes. Reproducciones de obras de arte. Mi favorita era La Maja Desnuda de Francisco de Goya. Y durante un tiempo pensé que era mi mami.
También teníamos una reproducción de La Duquesa de Alba (también de Goya) y mi abuela “emita” me contó que habían sido muy buenas amigas. Me tomó un tiempo darme cuenta de la brecha temporal. Siempre estaba inventando historias diferentes.
De adolescente, empecé a escribir e inventar mis propias historias cuando no me gustaban las reales o cuando no las conocía.
Así que un día escribí algo para la amiga de mi abuela…
